About this event

From FH. About 15,000 years ago, huge floods broke from gigantic ice dams in Montana and raced to the Pacific Ocean with flow rates ten times greater than all the world's rivers today, to shape the landscape of the Pacific Northwest including the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, and the Willamette Valley. Bob Setterberg, a long-time member of the Oregon Historical Society Community Speakers Bureau and a Volunteer Museum Educator, explains these events in a 75-minute visual presentation. His mantra is, "History is not only a study of the past, it is also an explanation of the present."
