Good morning, Lake Oswego.

Oregon’s minimum wage will rise by 35 cents statewide on July 1 as part of an automatic increase set by the legislature in 2016.

The city announced that Oswego Lake will be closed from July 3 to 7 for the Fourth of July holiday due to public safety concerns.

Critics claim the decision limits public access and was made without giving residents a chance to share their views—adding fresh debate to a long-running access issue.

Governor Kotek signed a bill on June 25th that gives unemployment benefits to striking workers.

The law follows similar steps in Washington and comes after work stoppages at Boeing factories, hospitals and schools in the Pacific Northwest.
