COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Eighteen West Linn 4-H winners earned ribbons at the Clackamas County Fair held Aug. 12-16 at the Fairgrounds in Canby—competing among nearly 700 youth with close to 5,000 entries—and received awards in categories such as livestock care and art that may qualify them for the Oregon State Fair 4-H competition.  West Linn Tidings

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Oregon’s Department of Revenue is urging taxpayers to take an IRS survey on the free online tax filing pilot used by 4,700 Oregonians that may face changes after new federal budget rules are set—taxpayer feedback will guide future filing options.  West Linn Tidings
  • Lake Oswego and West Linn representatives held a town hall (led by Mayor Joe Buck) at City Hall on Aug. 26 to review a new transportation funding package that raises revenue with a gas tax increase and higher fees. Rep. Daniel Nguyen and Rep. Jules Walters warned that nearly 500 jobs at ODOT are at risk without the measure and expect the Legislature to vote on it this weekend (the proposal includes accountability checks).  West Linn Tidings
