- ➤ The Lake Oswego Sustainability Network will host the Electric Vehicle Fair at Lake Oswego Methodist Church on Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where locals can view and test drive the latest EV models from Ford, GM, Rivian, Tesla — and a drawing for a $25 gift card will be held. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Justice Department sued Oregon and Maine on Tuesday for rejecting a request to share voter data—Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read said sharing the data would violate citizens’ privacy rights and vowed to fight the suit in court. West Linn Tidings
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, the Oregon Health Authority held a press conference following the West Coast Health Alliance’s release of vaccine recommendations amid CDC turmoil—officials explained the updated guidance and addressed concerns over shifting protocols. KGW
- ➤ Providence St. Vincent Medical Center will close its four-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the first week of November—low patient numbers and prolonged empty days led to the decision. The hospital will work with the nurses union to reassign 20 nurses while local children’s hospitals prepare to provide intensive care services. KGW
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ West Linn girls soccer defeated Wilsonville 1-0 in the first annual Willamette Cup on Sept. 16 at West Linn High School—Kylee Schreck scored the only goal while the defense kept a clean sheet. The win improved the Lions' record to 3-1-1 and they will meet South Eugene on Monday at 6:30 p.m.—the team looks to build on this success. West Linn Tidings
