- ➤ The Oregon Zoo announced that fan favorite Nora will leave for Wisconsin’s Henry Vilas Zoo this fall to help boost the polar bear population—she will later meet a potential mate—while the zoo welcomes playful Kallik from St. Louis Zoo. KGW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Stafford Road will reopen to traffic on Oct. 1 after months of closure that forced drivers to take detours. Clackamas County is improving the roadway—adding a roundabout at Childs Road, realigning Johnson Road, and widening for bike lanes—while planning targeted closures in parts of 2026. West Linn Tidings
- ➤ Clackamas County signed a letter that backs Marion County’s request for clear rules on immigration enforcement — the measure comes after Marion County filed a lawsuit on Aug. 1 over five immigration subpoenas, and fifteen counties have joined in backing the effort.
