About this event
Become an active caretaker of our local oak canopy!
Oak woodlands are vital ecological treasures that depend on community stewardship to thrive. During this hands-on workday, our restoration team will guide you to learn practical land care skills you can use anywhere—from identifying priority invasive species to utilizing low-impact removal methods that protect sensitive soils and root systems. By freeing our native oaks and shrubs, you'll gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to tend and sustain healthy native ecosystems.
Accessibility Note: Ground-level weeding requires bending and kneeling, but alternate stewardship activities are readily arranged to accommodate all mobility levels and physical abilities.
We will be working outdoors so please dress for the weather (long pants and layers are recommended). Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are required. Bring your own water bottle and gloves. Extra tools, gloves, and training will be provided. Please bring any medication you may need (Asthma Inhaler, Epi-Pen, etc.) Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. Unfortunately, there is no bathroom on site. Please stop by, learn about oak woodland ecology, and lend a hand as we enhance this unique oak woodland!
Please park on Deerbrush Ave close to north intersection of Woodside Circle. Cross onto Woodside circle to meet by a common space near mailboxes.
Registration is required. To RSVP, please use this link: Registration Link .
